Negombo is located mere minutes away from the airport and around 30 minutes away from Colombo. This makes it a very convenient day trip wherever you choose to do it from. Also known as “Little Rome”, Negombo has many things to offer for any traveler from local seafood delicacies fresh out of the waters or just enjoying a dip in the Indian Ocean.
The Negombo Lagoon
Something everyone can witness when landing in Sri Lanka in the Negombo lagoon meeting the ocean. It also brings spectacular views from the ground and a canoe ride along the lagoon in early hours of the morning will be sure to set the tone for an eventful day.
Dutch Fort
Next trip would be a short visit to the Dutch fort which will take you back to the colonial days and take youin the ruins from structures that once stood tall.
Negombo Beach
